Three Mountaineers Earn All-ASC West Honorable
Mention
Three
Schreiner Baseball players earned All-ASC West
honors after the recently completed 2008 season.
Senior Matt Langston, sophomore Colton Hermes
and freshman Oscar Ibieta all were named to the
All-ASC West honorable mention list.
Langston, who was Schreiner's starting left
fielder for most of the season, played in 36
games and was tied for the team lead in hits and
doubles and was second on the team in runs
scored and in home runs.
Hermes was one of SU's primary starting
pitchers. He was second on the team in
wins and starts and led the team in strikeouts.
Ibieta was one of two designated hitters used by
the Mountaineers during the season and also
played some at first base. He started the
season well but had a tougher time later in the
season. He was second on the team in RBI
and third in home runs. |
