#12 UMHB Cruises to Home
Win
Twelfth ranked Mary
Hardin-Baylor took
control early and
cruised to a home win
over visiting Schreiner
in Belton, 72-41.
The Crusaders (14-2 in
ASC) shot 63% from the
field in the opening
half and never looked
back.
Cold-shooting SU (4-11
in ASC) only managed to
shoot 26% from the field
in each half and no
Mountaineer player
scored double digits.
Freshman Jess Hagan led
Schreiner with 9 points
on 3-for-5 shooting (all
three pointers) in just
9 minutes of action.
Schreiner continues to
feature its youth
movement and started
three freshman and two
sophomores in its
opening lineup.
Schreiner continues to
have only one or two
upper classmen play
which means that the
team will take its lumps
now knowing that as
these young players
mature, the level of the
program and success will
grow.
