McMurry Uses Second Half
Run to Sprint Past
Mountaineers
Despite a hot start, SU
fell to McMurry in the
first game of
Schreiner's Abilene road
trip, 54-71. The
visiting Mountaineers
jumped out to a 15-6
lead, but couldn't
sustain their momentum.
McMurry pulled ahead at
19-17 with 7:08 left in
the first half, and
didn't trail again.
Schreiner closed the gap
to six points at 41-47
with a little more than
9 minutes remaining in
the game, but the
McMurry went on a two
minute tear, outscoring
the Mountaineers 13-2.
Trent Noack led the
Schreiner offense with
13 points off of the
bench. Keith Perry
and Mark Mahaffy each
had eight rebounds in
the losing effort.
