Schreiner Basketball
Offers Free Kids Clinic
on 11/24
Schreiner
University head men's
basketball coach Drew
Miller and head women's
basketball coach
Jeanette McKinney will
have a free basketball
clinic for area children
on Saturday, November
24th from 9-11 am in
Edington Gym on the
University campus. The
clinic will be followed
by the SU teams' home
opening basketball games
of the 2007-08 season.
The women's game against
visiting ASC member
University of
Texas-Dallas will be at
1 pm followed by the
men’s game against
UT-Dallas at 3 pm.
Those age 7 to 12 who
want to participate in
the clinic can register
by sending an e-mail to
Coach Miller at acmiller@schreiner.edu
that includes the
child’s name, age, phone
and e-mail address.
“We are excited to kick
off our basketball
season and host a clinic
for the Kerrville area's
youth basketball
players,” said Coach
Miller. “All boys and
girls will get
individual instruction
from our women and men's
basketball players,
after which we hope to
turn them into
Mountaineer fans for our
games against University
of Texas at Dallas.”
Miller will be beginning
his inaugural season as
head coach for the
Mountaineers.
Prior to taking the head
coach job in late April,
he was the first
assistant men's
basketball coach at
Trinity (TX) University
for three seasons and
spent the season prior
to that as the assistant
men's coach at
Southwestern (TX)
University.
McKinney will be
beginning her third
season at the helm of
the Mountaineer women's
team.
