Riley Battle earned ASC
West Division
Player-of-the-Week for
the week ending last
Saturday. He is
the second straight
Schreiner player to earn
the award after junior
Ralph Turner earned the
honor for his play in
games from January
20-24.
Battle, who is from
Waxahachie, TX, averaged
22.6 points and hit
17-of-18 free throws in
leading SU to three wins
last week - all at home.
He also added five
rebounds, five assists
and four steals as the
Mountaineers beat Texas
Lutheran, Howard Payne
and Sul Ross State.
His best performance was
a 31-point effort in the
win over visiting HPU.
Current, Battle is
leading the team in
scoring averaging 15.2
points and is also
averaging 3.1 rebounds
