Schreiner's men's
cross country team had an early morning start time
(7:30 am) at the UT-Tyler Invitational and it showed
in the runners' performances. On a very warm and
humid morning, the Mountaineers had difficulty with
the conditions and ran a very sluggish race.
Although the team had been running better times in
practice, those efforts did not come through in
Tyler.
Freshman Michael
Maia was best finisher for the men finishing 36th
with a time of 33:23. According to Coach
Rodney Holland, there was a silver lining. "It
was the first race of the year and we can only get
better."
