Schreiner Men's Cross Country moved up one spot from last year by finishing sixth at the ASC Cross Country Championships in Abilene.  Freshman Michael Maia was the top finisher for the Mountaineers with a time of 31:39.  Although Maia was SU's top finisher (23rd overall), all the SU runners had strong times and most ran their best times of the season.  Junior Lupe Garza (32:37) was SU's second highest finisher at 29th.  Sophomore Will Johnston was one Mountaineer who showed particularly strong improvement, finishing seven minutes better than his time at the last race.

Schreiner totaled 184 points which placed them ahead of Louisiana College (200), East Texas Baptist (204) and University of the Ozarks (214).
