Dorsey Jack Reirdon was named as
Schreiner University's new
head coach for Men's Cross
Country in January and
begins his first season
running the program this
fall.
He has more than 40 years of
coaching experience in both
track & field and cross
country and was the Head
Cross Country coach at
several colleges and high
schools, including NCAA
Division I Oklahoma State
University and McNeese State
(LA) University and the
University of Central
Oklahoma. He was also the
head coach for boys and
girls cross country at five
different high schools in
Texas and Oklahoma during
his coaching career.
Dorsey Jack was a state champion
and record holder (OK) in
both the 100 and 220-yard
dash. Upon graduation, he
became a teacher and coach
in track & field and cross
country and taught at both
the high school and college
level and also worked in
administration at both
levels - all while coaching.
He retired in 2004 after a
career as coach,
administrator and teacher at
numerous schools.
During his illustrious
coaching career, he coached
teams to state high school
championships in Track &
Field five times and also
won state football
championships. He has won
numerous state
Coach-of-the-Year awards
during his tenure and was
inducted into the State of
Oklahoma High School Coaches
Hall of Fame in 1990.
He and his wife Elizabeth
live in Kerrville along with
their dog, Dakota. Three
children, Renee, Jack and
Jeff live in Oklahoma and
North Texas.
