Martinez Rallies for 14th Place at LMC Invitational

Schreiner Men's Golf competed against a field made up of scholarship junior college programs.  Like its competition, the non-scholarship Mountaineers found the short, tight Cherokee Country Club course much tougher than it looked.  The layout - combined with tiny, fast and sloping greens - caused all of the scores to rise. 

SU freshman Arnie Martinez struggled with the course on day one, but bounced back strong in the final round by posting the sixth best score of the day (72) and finished in 14th place individually in the 50 player field.

As a team, Schreiner finished 7th in the nine team field.  Sophomore Bobby Villcheck and freshman Brent Stanford tied for second place on the SU squad and 28th place overall at 167.
