Grona Falters at ASC Championships, Finishes 28th

Sophomore Kyle Grona couldn't maintain his success at the LeTourneau Spring Classic and slipped to 28th at the ASC Championships.  Grona finished fourth individually last week but couldn't sustain the momentum at the final tournament of the year on the Hurricane Creek Country Club course in Anna, TX.  After a solid start, Grona ran into trouble on the back nine of his first round and ended up with a 79 and in 22nd place.  The second round of the opening day didn't get any better and Grona carded an 80 which was good for 24th.

In the final round, it was a rough first nine holes that proved his undoing but Grona rallied with a 38 over the final nine holes and finished with an 82.  Freshman Jay Chapman also qualified as an individual for the ASC Championships but couldn't participate due to an academic conflict.
