Mark Salazar
5'8"
Alice High School (2008)
Alice, TX

Mark is one of two senior leaders on the Alice golf team.  In 2007, he was named "Newcomer of the Year" for the district in his first year of 4A competition.  He was a major contributor to a Coyote team that qualified for regional competition and was team medalist.  He is a long hitter but also possesses a strong short game and is focused on that area as his playing strength.  Mark has split his time between the course and baseball field as he is a pitcher and everyday player for the Coyote baseball team.  Once he finishes baseball season, he will focus exclusively on golf and should take his game to yet another level.  He is also strong in the classroom and carries a 3.50 GPA including honors classes.

Jared Cornish
5'11"
Randolph High School (2008)
Schertz, TX

Jared recently qualified for the 2008 State Tournament after finishing third overall at the District IV - Region 29 Tournament.  He will be playing at Roy Kaiser GC in Austin in the UIL 2A Championships.  This is his second straight year of qualifying for the State tournament and he qualified as an individual for the Regional Tournament each of his four years at Randolph HS.   He was the individual medalist at one tournament last fall and finished in the top 5 of every high school event he competed in in 2007.  This winter, he has had to overcome a wrist injury but quickly got his game back in order after getting the cast off and qualified through both Districts and the Regional to reach the State Tournament.  A veteran of AJGA, STPGA and TJGT events and possessor of strong ball-striking mechanics, Jared will have a chance to immediately contribute this fall.  He carries a 3.3 GPA at Randolph HS.
