Andy Bell
5'7"
Clear Lake High School (2009)
Seabrook, TX

Andy's golfing strengths include his ability to scramble and his competitiveness in competition along with the motivation he brings to the team.  He is a self-taught player and is determined to become the best golfer he can be.  His strong practice habits have earned him numerous top 5 finishes in high school and HGA events.  He is the captain of the varsity golf team at Clear Lake High School and he recently was the individual medalist (73,73) at the West Fork Open. He has been a member of the HGA and TJGT for the last two years, and recently placed 3rd (74,70) in the Greater Houston Junior Championship on the Redstone Tournament Course (pro tees).  Andy just recently finished 3rd place overall in his district golf tournament, shooting 74,76, and earned All District 24-5A Boys 1st Team.  Andy is also a very high achiever in the classroom. Currently he is a member of the Science and Spanish National Honor Society, the Pride and Patriotism Committee Head on the CLHS Student Council, a representative from Boys State and a senior aid on the Houston Mayor's Youth Council. He intends to study Pre-Law/Political Science with future plans of running for office and serving his constituents in Washington DC.

Kelby Ruiz
5'10"
Coronado High School (2009)
Lubbock, TX

Kelby is an accomplished player from a solid 5A program.  He brings a strong work ethic, high level of academic achievement and mature attitude to the program.  Has played football, basketball, soccer and run track but committed himself to golf exclusively this year and the results have shown through.  His best round was a 71 at the prestigious Tall Pines Invitational in Midland in February.  He averaged 74.3 in qualifying this semester.  He has had to overcome swing changes because of a change in his teachers but bounced back strong this semester.  He has solid swing mechanics and is a passionate competitor.  Kelby has earned plenty of top finishes in both HS and NTPGA events.  He has led his team to the state tournament twice during his HS career.  He was a rarity at Coronado - a four year starter - and looks to make a similar impact at Schreiner.  Kelby is an honors student and is interested in studying to be an engineer while at SU.
