UT-Tyler Gets
Best of Schreiner at Home, 1-0
UT-Tyler and Schreiner continued their recent
rivalry with another close match, this one a 1-0
win for UTT in Kerrville.
The fact that the two teams battled to a 0-0 tie
in the opening half should come as no surprise.
Last year, the two teams finished first and
second in the ASC and the difference between the
teams was a 2-0 win by UTT at home over SU.
The lone goal of the match was scored seconds
into the second half as UT-Tyler's Cole Brittain
hit the back on the net on an assist from
Michael Kendall. That would turn out to be
the only goal the visitors needed.
UT-Tyler had a decisive edge on Schreiner in the
stats department, leading in shots and
shots-on-goal by a 2-1 margin in each.
Schreiner has yet to score a first half goal at
home this season. Junior goalkeeper Nick
Morrison had seven saves in the opening half to
keep SU in the match. |
