Early Goal is Enough in 1-0 Win Over LC
Senior
Tino Albarran's first half goal was enough as
Schreiner captured a 1-0 win over visiting
Louisiana College on the last weekend of the
regular season. It was his fifth goal of
the season. The goal broke several recent
negative trends for the Mountaineers.
Gone is a nine-match losing streak for SU.
Also ended was a seven match losing streak in
American Southwest Conference matches.
Albarran's goal came at the 30 minute mark of
the first half off a terrific chip pass across
the box from fresman Juan Bonilla. The
goal was only the second at home all season for
the hard-luck Mountaineers and the 1-0 halftime
lead was the first of the year at home.
Senior Jeff Winton and junior Nick Morrison
combined on a shutout. For Morrison, the
involvement in the shutout extends his school
career record to 12.5. |
