Garcia chosen
for All-ASC Honors after Senior Season
It
wasn't the type of season that Schreiner Men's
Soccer expected or is used to but three
Mountaineer players still earned recognition on
the all-conference team.
Senior Roberto Garcia was one of the team's most
consistent performers in all aspects of the
game, and earned third team All-ASC honors from
the league's coaches. While his offensive
stats were modest - one goal and one assist - he
was a standout both offensively and defensively
and helped keep Schreiner in many matches.
Two other Mountaineers also received All-ASC
Honorable Mention honors. Sophomore
midfielder Dean Ellis and freshman defender
Jesse Reynolds each had strong seasons.
Ellis showed tremendous improvement over his
freshman campaign and finished fourth on the
team in shots in 2007. Reynolds had the
tough task in helping replace several defensive
starters from the highly-successful 2006 team
and quickly became a strong defender on SU's
back line. |
