HTU's
Second Half Goal is
Difference in 1-0 Loss
Photo: Sophomore Derek Brosky and his
teammates came up just short against HTU
Visiting Huston-Tillotson got a goal midway
through the second half to break a scoreless tie
and wound up with a 1-0 win over Schreiner.
Schreiner's defense was tough all match against
the scholarship Ram program from NAIA. HTU
had many more chances against the young
Mountaineers but still could only hit the back
of the net one time. Freshman goalkeeper
Matt Johnson and senior defender Jeremy Reinhard
anchored the strong SU defensive effort.
It was the SU defense that kept the match tight
and gave the Mountaineers the chance to win.
Because of Hurricane Ike, Schreiner has had to
cancel this weekend's matches in Dallas.
SU's next matches will begin ASC play as the
team travels to Howard Payne and Mary
Hardin-Baylor next weekend. |
