HSU Takes Advantage of
Opportunities in 3-0 Home Win
ABILENE, TX - The Schreiner
Men's Soccer team's playoff
hopes took a hit as
Hardin-Simmons punched it's
ticket to the postseason with a
3-0 win in Abilene on Friday.
The Mountaineers have one match
remaining in the regular season
and still have a chance to
clinch one of the remaining
spots in the six team postseason
field.
Although the match statistics
were fairly even, HSU (8-2-5,
7-1-3 in ASC) made the most of
their scoring chances while
Schreiner could not. Shots
were 14-10 in favor of the
Cowboys but all that mattered
was that the home team found the
back of the net three times.
Schreiner has an important match
on Saturday afternoon in Abilene
at McMurry University. The
Mountaineers are currently 6-3-3
in the ASC and 7-6-3 overall.
SU falls back into a three-way
tie for fifth place in the
fourteen team league and needs
to win in the regular season
finale to have a chance at the
playoffs. Match time is
3:00 pm. |
