Junior Christian Sasam came into the ASC Individual Championships as the #3 seed, but he left Tyler, TX with the #1 flight singles trophy.  On his way to the title, Sasam defeated three ASC foes, including David Ashlock from host UT-Tyler in the championship final, 7-6, 6-1.  The top three seeds got byes in round one.  In round #2, Sasam knocked off Hardin-Simmons' Ryan Waters 7-6, 3-6, 6-2.  He then beat overall #1 seed Eric White of Mary Hardin-Baylor in the semifinals by a 6-3, 6-3 count before beating Ashlock.

The rest of the Mountaineer men's team weren't quite as successful.  Freshman Carlo Sasam, sophomore Trey Brannen - who is recovering from knee surgery, junior Brent Coleman, freshman Ben Jackson, sophomore Zach Browning and freshman Stephen Franklin won one match each in their respective flights.
