Schreiner Blanks Concordia in ASC Opener, 9-0
Schreiner got off to a strong
start in ASC action, slamming Concordia-Texas in Austin,
9-0. SU (1-1, 1-0 in ASC) didn't lose a set in singles
action and weren't challenged in doubles.
Seniors Brent Coleman and Riley Winterringer set the tone at
#1 doubles by winning 8-4. The #2 team of sophomores
Carlo Sasam and Ben Jackson had it even easier with a 8-0
drubbing. The #3 team of freshmen Dan Okland and Adam
Dobbins made it a doubles sweep with an 8-1 win.
In singles action, all six players cruised to easy wins in
the respective matches. Winterringer (#3) and Okland
(#5) each had 6-0, 6-0 "double bagel" wins over their
opponents. Coleman (#2) allowed gave up only one game
in his match and nearly made it three clean sweeps in
singles action. |
