Men's Tennis Swamps Sul Ross State, 9-0
Schreiner won its second
consecutive ASC road match with a 9-0 sweep, this time at
Sul Ross State in Alpine. Also, for the second
straight match, SU didn't drop a set to their opponent.
Two Mountaineers (2-1 overall, 2-0 in ASC) had clean sweeps
in their singles matches. Senior Riley Winterringer
and Sophomore Ben Jackson each handled their opponents with
identical 6-0, 6-0 scores. Winterringer's win was at
#3 singles and Jackson's at #5. Freshman Daniel Okland
gave up on two games in winning his match at #6 singles,
6-2, 6-0. Sophomore Carlo Sasam one handily, 6-3, 7-5
at #1 singles. Senior Brent Coleman won 6-3, 6-2 at #2
singles.Schreiner
was nearly as dominant in doubles action. The #2 team
of Sasam and Jackson had the easiest time, winning 8-2. |
