This weekend, both Tennis teams start their spring seasons as well as SU Softball. Also, Schreiner's JV Baseball team plays its first games of the year today at Mountaineer Field. Congratulations to Kevin Deans for being named ASC Men's Basketball Player of the Week.  Also, this Saturday is Senior Day for SU Basketball seniors, Liberty Liesmann, Kevin Deans and Jonathan Young as they play their final home games in Edington Center. Please come out and support our seniors and thank them for their contributions to Mountaineer Basketball.

Here's a quick look back and ahead at the next week's schedule:

BASEBALL: went 3-1 on the week. SU swept a three-game season opening series with NCAA Division II UT-Permian Basin. Scores were 7-1, 12-4 and 3-1. Schreiner pitchers allowed only 5 earned runs over three games and starting pitchers, Chris Armijo, Colton Hermes and Kevin Jones came one out shy of throwing complete games in every contest. SU lost at Texas A&M International yesterday, 15-5, as SU allowed 11 walks and committed 8 errors.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: went 1-1 last week. Beat Concordia-Austin, 82-77, lost to UMHB, 83-91. The Mountaineers remain in the race for the last playoff spot but now trail by 1 game going into the final two weeks. Senior guard Kevin Deans' play in the two games resulted in his being named ASC player-of-the-week after scoring 34 points (10 rebounds) in the win over CUA and 17 in the UMHB game.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: went 0-2 last week. Lost to CUA, 79-88, and lost to UMHB, 68-92. SU continues to hold down 6th place in the ASC West. Monica Enriquez averaged 19 points and Courtney Davis nearly 17 in the two games.
