Schreiner Softball plays its second home doubleheader tonight at Mountaineer Field. The first game begins at 5 pm as you'll see below. It'll be another busy weekend for SU spring sports teams this weekend with Baseball hosting Howard Payne in ASC West Division play. Tennis if off until 3/12. Here's a quick look back at the past week and a schedule of what's coming up:

SOFTBALL: swept a doubleheader from visiting Trinity by the scores of 5-4 and 9-8. Freshman Becca Hay picked up the win in each game. She allowed only one earned run in a complete game effort in the first game. Junior Sarah Trevino was the hitting star with three hits and drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. In the second game, Hay came in in relief of starter (junior) Patsy Toman. Despite junior Lyndsie Travis' grand slam earlier in the second game, SU still had to rally in the sixth with two runs to get the sweep. Toman had the go-ahead hit in the finale.

MEN'S TENNIS: went 2-0 last week, beat Concordia-TX (9-0) and Sul Ross State (9-0). Schreiner slammed both of its opponents last week with little trouble from the opponents. In each match, there were several 6-0, 6-0 routes by the Mountaineers in singles action. Senior Riley Winterringer didn't lose a game in two matches and sophomore Ben Jackson and freshman Daniel Okland only lost two games in their two matches.

WOMEN'S TENNIS: went 2-0 last week, beat Concordia-TX (9-0) and Sul Ross State (8-1). Like the men, SU's women's team also had an easy week. Two mid-year additions had good weeks. Freshman Alicia Wilbanks only lost one game in two matches and junior Jill Perez, playing her first college match, won 6-0, 6-0. Senior Tina Philippi won her two matches and only dropped two games total.

BASEBALL: went 0-4 last week. Lost three games at UT-Tyler and lost to Wabash yesterday, 13-5. Schreiner had a rough trip to UT-Tyler, getting outscored 20-3 and getting only 10 hits in the series. The Mountaineers didn't fare much better yesterday, falling behind visiting Wabash by a 12-1 count before rallying late. Sophomore Eric Crenwelge led all SU hitters with four hits over the span of games. The good news is that Schreiner won't start divisional play until this weekend.
