A
quick look back at last week's
Mountaineer action ... |
|
|
|
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: won, 83-78, at
UT-Dallas and lost, 69-73, at
UT-Tyler. The Women's Basketball
team continued its strong start by
improving to 2-0 with its second
straight ASC road win at UT-Dallas.
The Mountaineers trailed 37-26 late
in the first half but used a 14-3
run to close the half and then a
13-2 run midway through the second
half to earn the win at UTD. Against
preseason favorite (ASC East
Division) UT-Tyler, SU took an eight
point lead in the first half but the
Patriots were able to chip away at
the lead and pull out the
hard-fought win. Lynn Stow led SU
with 37 points in the two games
while Vanessa Lopez had 35.
Schreiner has its home opener
tonight.
MEN'S BASKETBALL: lost, 95-103, at
UT-Dallas and lost, 75-86, at
UT-Tyler. The Mountaineers fell
behind at UTD early and made a
valiant effort in rallying but could
not catch the Comets. Against UTT,
SU again got behind early and could
not catch up. Kevin Deans paced the
Mountaineers on each night, scoring
20 vs. UTD and 21 at UTT. Jonathan
Young had 36 points in the two
games. |
