Sarah Trevino had nine hits and 11 RBI in a four
game series with Howard Payne to earn ASC HOW
Senior Sarah Trevino was named American
Southwest Conference Hitter of the Week for
games between March 24-30. During the four
games, all vs. ASC foe Howard Payne, Trevino was
9-for-12 at the plate, had one home run, one
triple and drove in 11 runs as Schreiner went
3-1 against the then-nationally-ranked Lady
Yellow Jackets.
Her big game was a five-for-five effort, with 8
RBI and five runs scored as Schreiner rallied
from a 9-1 deficit to score a 17-12 win in game
#2 of the series.
Currently, Trevino (Alice, TX/Ben Bolt HS) is
leading the Mountaineers in hitting at .413,
with two homers and 25 RBI.
