Concordia's Defense Too Much for SU
In a battle of improving
programs, Concordia-Texas
was the more aggressive team
in recording a 3-2 road win.
One of Schreiner's few
bright spots was its start
in game #1. The
Mountaineers (4-5, 1-2 in
ASC) started fast and
quickly had CU-T in a hole
at 12-4. The two teams
traded points throughout the
rest of the game and
Schreiner was able to give
its home fans a 30-25 win.
From that point on, SU was
sluggish and started slowly
each game. The second
game featured a lot of
trading points back and
forth but Concordia scored
the game's final 5 points
for a 30-25 victory.
Games 3, 4 & 5 saw Schreiner
fall behind by fairly large
margins at the beginning of
each. Only in game #4
could the Mountaineers mount
much of a rally, winning
30-27. Schreiner lost
game three, 24-30, and lost
the decisive game, 10-15.
