Miller, White Earn All-ASC
Honors
The strength of the 2007
Schreiner Volleyball team
was in its middle-hitters
and the American Southwest
Conference coaches
recognized that as SU's two
biggest producers earned
All-ASC acclaim.
Sophomore Tiffany Miller and
junior Xandria White each
earned 2nd team All-ASC West
Division honors for their
play during the
recently-completed 2007
campaign. Miller was
among the ASC's leaders in
kills (4th, 3.8/game),
hitting percentage (6th,
.311) and finished just
outside the top 10 in
blocks. She led
Schreiner in both kills and
hitting percentage.
White, returning from two
years of devastating
injuries, also was among the
ASC leaders in kills (5th,
3.77/game) and blocks (5th,
1.08/game) and led the
Mountaineers in blocks.
Schreiner finished its
season with an overall
record of 11-14, which
matched the number of wins
the team had in 2006.
They finished 8-10 in the
ASC which was slightly
behind the 10-8 record of
the year prior. SU
does not have a senior on
its roster and should be a
force in the conference race
in 2008. |
