Ozarks Shoots Past Mountaineers, 99-90

The Mountaineers finally got a chance to play at home but neither the game nor the ending favored the home team as Ozarks shot past Schreiner, 99-90.  SU fell behind early, 25-14, and although the Mountaineers were able to claw back and tie the game just before halftime, Ozarks had command of the game from that point on.  The Lady Eagles held a 37-33 lead at the break, and quickly extended the margin to double digits early in the second half.

Although SU made several runs which cut the lead to six points, that would be as close as Schreiner could get.  Ozarks shot a sizzling 72% from the field in the second half to thwart any challenge Schreiner could muster.

Kerrie Carter came off the bench to lead all SU scorers with 21 points.  Fellow sophomore Monica Enriquez managed a near triple-double with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to go with 3 steals.  Vanessa Lopez chipped in with 11 points.  Lynn Stow had a team-high 9 rebounds.
