Louisiana Takes Control Early and Wins, 91-66
Louisiana College started quickly and took control of the
ASC contest in the first half on its way to a 91-66 home win
over the Mountaineers. The Lady Wildcats opened the
game with a 17-2 run and kept up its torrid shooting en
route to a 53-23 halftime lead and were never challenged.
LC shot 58% from the field in the first half while Schreiner
could only manage 29%. Another major contributor to
the lopsided score was LC's defense which accounted for 15
steals and forced 23 SU turnovers.
The Lady Wildcats (2-6, 1-4 in ASC) were led by Carol Elder
who had 22 points and 12 rebounds. The Mountaineers
(2-6, 2-3 in ASC) were led by Kerrie Carter who had 17
points off the bench to go with 8 rebounds.
Courtney Davis added 10 points off the bench as no Schreiner
starter scored in double digits.
