Schreiner Can't Overcome Lady Choctaws First Half Run

Mississippi College used an 11-0 run midway through the first half to break open a close game and the visiting Mountaineers could not recover.  Mississippi College went on to win the ASC contest by the score of 69-57.

Thirteen minutes into the opening half, Schreiner had cut the Lady Choctaws lead to 19-17 but the Mountaineers would go cold the remainder of the half and found themselves behind 37-22 at the break.

The two teams would battle back and forth in the second half and Schreiner made a late rally but the first half deficit was to large to overcome.  MC's inside duo of Lacey Kennedy and Yalanda Grady overpowered the smaller SU squad and posted a combined 32 points and 30 rebounds.

Schreiner managed just 27% shooting for the game and was only 2-for-15 from long range.  Lynn Stow had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.  Kerrie Carter came off the bench to also score 10 points and grab 8 rebounds.  Courtney Davis led the Mountaineers with 13 points.
