Mountaineers Can't Recover from UMHB's Fast Start
UMHB started the game on
a 32-9 run and although Schreiner was able to cut into the
lead, the Crusaders were never seriously threatened en route
to a 92-68 win.
Schreiner was able to cut into the lead but still trailed
44-26 at the break. UMHB (14-6, 12-4 in ASC) dominated
the boards, 26-16 in the first half and shot 54% to the
Mountaineers 29% from the field.
In the second half, SU (5-16, 5-12 in ASC) got the lead down
to 12 at 51-39 with sixteen minutes remaining but could get
no closer. For the game, UMHB had a 50-29 rebounding
disparity and dished out 25 assists.
Monica Enriquez led all
scorers with 18 points and had five rebounds and five
assists.
Liberty Liesmann had 15
points, while
Courtney Davis added 12 and
Marissa Stearns 10.
Christian Tomlinson led a balanced Crusader attack with 14
points.
