Liesmann Named Academic All-ASC

Junior Liberty Liesmann was named Academic All-Conference by the American Southwest Conference for the 2005-06 season.  The award comes after a very trying season for Liesmann, but is a testament to her strength of character. 
 

The Exercise Science major was one of the few returning veterans on a team made up mostly of freshmen.  As such, Liesmann was figured to be a prominent factor for the Mountaineers this season.  Instead, she was beset with a rash of injuries that began before the season and carried throughout, significantly curtailing her playing time and opportunities.  Freshmen are not eligible for Academic All-ASC, but several Mountaineers will qualify for the honor next year.
