#8 McMurry Rallies to
Beat Schreiner
Schreiner held a lead
going into the closing
minutes but #8 McMurry
rallied to post a 81-68
win in Kerrville.
The Mountaineers (4-8 in
ASC) held a 54-50 lead
with less than eight
minutes remaining and
were still tied with the
top-10 ranked McMurry
(12-0 in ASC)
team, 62-all with five
minutes remaining but
McMurry took control in
the closing moments.
SU junior Monica
Enriquez led the upset
attack with a game-high
25 points, seven
assists, six rebounds
and four steals.
Two freshmen (Lee
Richardson and Anna
Fareed) and a sophomore
(Courtney Davis) all had
11 points for Schreiner
but it wasn't enough.
Richardson also added a
team-high 7 rebounds.
2007 ASC
Player-of-the-Year and
2007-08 preseason pick
Tara Richardson led
McMurry with 21 points
and 13 rebounds and
became the ASC's
all-time leading scorer.
