Monica Enriquez (Corpus

Academy) was named
American Southwest
Conference
Player-of-the-Week (West
Division) for action
during the week of
December 10-15.
During that week,
Enriquez averaged 23
points, 8.5 steals, five
assists and three
rebounds in two
conference games - both
tough home losses.
The 5'6" Enriquez was
just short of a triple
double in a one-point
loss to LeTourneau with
25 points, 11 steals and
eight assists. She has
been the Mountaineers
high scorer in six of
their seven games to
date and has been the
team's leading scorer at
the end of each of her
three years at SU.
She's again leading the
team in that category in
2008-09. She
recently surpassed 1,300
career points and is
also among the school
leaders in assists and
steals. In a
10-point loss to East
Texas Baptist, she
scored 21 points,
grabbed six rebounds and
added six steals.
She is an Exercise
Science major and earned
Academic Honor Roll
distinction in the
classroom during the
Spring, 2008 semester.
