Coach Crain enters his second season with the SU women’s basketball program.
Prior to coming to SU before the 2008-09 season, he
worked with both the
men’s basketball team (2006-07) and the women’s
basketball team (2007-08) at the University of
Texas-San Antonio (UTSA). During his time at
UTSA, the Roadrunners women’s
team had a stellar season in '07-’08 - winning the
Southland Conference Tournament Championship for the
first time in school history. The championship win
allowed the Roadrunners to earn the school's first
NCAA Championship Tournament appearance where they
fell to Elite Eight finalist, Texas A & M.
Coach Crain has worked numerous basketball camps at
the high school and collegiate level and is a graduate of UTSA (2008) with a Bachelor’s of Arts
degree in English. Prior to coaching, Crain
worked in journalism writing for a weekly newspaper
as well as working as a weekend sports producer for
a San Antonio TV station.
Coach Crain works with new head coach Matt Wallis in all aspects of the Mountaineer program.
He will not only contribute to recruiting, film
exchange and scouting, but will be very involved in
individual player skills work and team practices.
He resides in Kerrville. |
