Beat Storms at TLU Invitational
Freshman Amanda Mendoza knocked off nearly one minute from
her time on the same course just last week, and finished 6th
at the TLU Invitational in Seguin. She was one of
three SU freshmen to run in the meet. Last week,
Kimberly Gotelli returned to action after being out for a
period of time. This week, Gotelli was joined by
Kathrine McDaniel who also was able to return to action
after being out for an extended period. The team has
struggled with injury and illness this semester that has
claimed their head coach and most of the runners.
The only person able to get through it all is Mendoza and
she just keeps getting better and better each race.
She again lowered her school record race time in the 6k
event. She ran the race in 24:50. Just after the
women's event was concluded, heavy storms hit the area and
washed out the men's race. |
