Despite
Fall, Mendoza Still Finishes Freshman Season with Strong Run
CLINTON, MS - Freshman Amanda Mendoza completed a strong
freshman season by finishing 15th at the ASC Championships
which were run over a soggy and slippery course in Clinton,
MS. Mendoza, despite falling early in the race in the
difficult conditions, still ran the 6k course in 27:07.
Still, the result could have been much better if the spill
hadn't occurred.
The result can't take away from the tremendous season the
Crawford, TX native enjoyed this fall. She has already
set all Schreiner Women's Cross Country records during her
first fall wearing the maroon and white. She has
consistently finished in the top 10 of almost every race
she's run and would have likely done the same if not for the
slip in Clinton.
Mendoza was the only SU runner to qualify for the ASC
Championships this fall. |
