Schreiner Finishes Third at Lon Morris Tournament

Schreiner placed three players in the top 10 at the Lon Morris Invitational.  Schreiner was the only non-scholarship program in the tournament field that included past national champions and nationally-ranked junior college programs.

Freshman Kattie Spencer led Schreiner's efforts, shooting 88-87 and finishing 8th.  Her roommate, freshman Liz Calderon, had scores posted of 89-87 to claim ninth place.  Sophomore Surraya Minhas shot 89-91 and was in 10th place overall.  Sophomore Andrea Roach shot her best collegiate round in the lousy conditions of day one, with a 104. 

All the teams had to deal with a miserable day of play Monday, competing through two lightning delays, and slogging through intermittent and occasionally heavy rains and cold temperatures that made The Woods at Jacksonville course sloppy and barely playable.  The conditions for the second round were much improved, although the course still was muddy and played long for the women competitors.
