Finish 2nd, Minhas Claims 4th Place at SFC

KERRVILLE, TX - The Schreiner Women's Golf team shot 332 in
gusty conditions to nail down the runner-up spot to UT-Tyler
at the Schreiner Fall Classic, played at Scott Schreiner
Golf Club. SU Senior Surraya Minhas shot a two day
total of 159 to finish in fourth place individually to lead
the SU effort. UT-Tyler, the defending champion and
the top-ranked team in the field (#32 nationally), shot a
652 to win by 10 shots over Schreiner (ranked #36).
Mary Hardin-Baylor, ranked #37 in the national polls,
finished third after shooting 667 in the tournament.
UT-Dallas was fourth (740) and Texas A&M International was
fifth (760).
Our Lady of the Lake
University's Brady Viertel and UTD's Alicia Yoder tied for
individual medalist honors with a 156 total. Viertel
won the title in a scorecard playoff.
Sophomore Sarah Stillwell shot a second-day 81 (165 total)
to finish seventh overall. Junior Liz Calderon fell
back to 11th (167). Freshman Ashley Hernandez rallied
from a disappointing first round with a collegiate-best 82
to claim 16th place. Another freshman, Katlynd Imbody,
was 21st. Schreiner also played three medalists in the
event. Freshman Brittany Miears was lowest of the
three and finished 18th. Freshman Simone Date
struggled in her second round and tied Imbody for 21st.
Sophomore Rylie Pankratz was 31st in the field.
The SFC concluded Schreiner Women's Golf's fall season.
The team won't gather again until the spring season starts
in February.
