ETBU Breaks Away
Early and Wins, 8-2
East Texas Baptist
escaped some early Schreiner scoring chances.
ETBU didn't miss on their opportunities. When
they got their first chance, ETBU converted as Alina
Kilkenny scored with six minutes elapsed to take a
1-0 lead. The Mountaineers answered back
quickly as
Ashley Avalos
scored her 10th goal of the season (assist by
Jacquie Luna) to tie the score.
Halfway through the first half, the Tigers scored
again and quickly added two more to go up 4-1.
By halftime, the margin was 5-1 in favor of the
visitors.
In the second half,
ETBU kept up the pressure and scored three more
times. Schreiner's
Jo Jo Ahlf, who
played goalkeeper for the first three-quarters of
the match, switched to an offensive position and
scored on a penalty kick to account for the final
margin. Schreiner falls to 2-5 in ASC
play with the loss. |
