Have Big Days in 5-1 SU Win
Katelyn Williams
and
Ashley Avalos are
glad the rains stopped. So are their
Mountaineer teammates. Williams and Avalos
each scored two goals as Schreiner erased some
recent frustration with a convincing 5-1 win at
Louisiana College.
It didn't take long for Schreiner to erase the long
bus trip or the thoughts of a possible cancellation
of the match due to persistent heavy rains
throughout the Gulf Coast over the past week.
Williams scored first off an assist from Avalos.
Then the two reversed roles to put SU up 2-0.
Roxie Harper
increased the first half lead to three off a
throw-in from
Jo Jo Ahlf.
In the second half, the Mountaineers kept up the
scoring as Williams again scored - this time off an
Avalos throw in. Avalos finished the Schreiner
scoring with her team-leading 13th goal of the
season.
