Ends Streak with 0-0 Tie at Louisiana

Schreiner completed its road schedule with a 0-0 tie
at Louisiana College on Saturday in Pineville, LA.
The Mountaineers will complete the 2008 season next
weekend when SU hosts Hardin-Simmons and McMurry on
subsequent days.
On Friday, Schreiner (0-14-1, 0-10-1 in ASC) lost at
Mississippi College (14-3, 9-2 in ASC), 5-0.
Against LC (1-13-2, 1-9-1 in ASC), scoring figured
to be low as each team had only scored four goals so
far in 2008. That expectation became reality
through 90 minutes of regulation and 20 minutes of
overtimes. With a long trip ahead of them, SU
came away with some form of relief from a season
that has seen a rash of injuries decimate the team.
In Friday's match, not
only did SU have to battle on of the ASC's best
teams, both teams had to battle constant rain and
cold temperatures. Mississippi College took
control in the first half with four goals and cruise
to the victory. Freshman goalkeeper Stephanie
Hoskins had five saves in the loss.
