Alvarado Wins ITA Region Consolation Bracket

Freshman Amanda Alvarado lost her first match at the ITA Region Championships but found success - a lot of it - in the consolation bracket.  She defeated three players on the way to her consolation bracket championship.  She defeated McMurry's Brandi Weatherbee, 8-1, in the first round, then LeTourneau's Jessica Tindall in the second, 6-1, 6-3, before pounding Howard Payne's Brea Roth in the final, 6-2, 6-0.

Senior Patty Santiago also was knocked out of the championship bracket in the first round, but won one match in her consolation bracket.  She defeated Mary Hardin-Baylor's Katy Butler, 8-5.
