SRS Edges Young Mountaineers, 6-3

Schreiner had a chance to pull out a close match vs. Sul Ross State but the veteran visitors came up with the close victory, 6-3.  SU (0-6, 0-1 in ASC) won at #2 doubles as senior Patty Santiago and sophomore Stephanie Reed beat the #2 team from SRS, 8-2.  Sul Ross won the other two doubles matches to take a 2-1 edge into singles action.

The Mountaineers feature freshman at both #1 #2 and #6 singles and all three players lost competitive matches.  Reed won at #3 singles (6-4, 6-3).  Santiago dominated at #4 singles (6-1, 6-0).
