Priess, Reed Pick Up All-ASC Awards in First Year at SU

Two first-year players, sophomore Stephanie Reed and freshman Katrina Priess, were each recognized by the conference as All-ASC performers in 2007.

Priess came in last fall and immediately claimed the #1 singles spot and never let it go throughout the season.  She also team with fellow freshman, Amanda Alvarado in the #2 doubles unit.  Priess was named to the second team All-ASC West division team.

Reed, who played soccer last year instead of tennis, switched sports and immediately found success this year.  She started the season playing #4 singles but rose to #2 by the end of the year.  She also teamed with senior Patty Santiago at #1 doubles.  Reed was named ASC West Division Newcomer of the Year.

Both players will be counted on heavily to lead a very young Mountaineer team in 2007-08.
