SU Women's Tennis Crushes Concordia

For the second time in the past 11 months, Schreiner slammed an undermanned Concordia, 9-0.  Schreiner beat Concordia late last spring to end a winless streak and started off the 2008 season by winning by an even more lopsided margin over the undermanned Tornadoes. 

Freshman Michelle Martinez (#2 singles) was one of three SU players to blank their opponents with 6-0, 6-0 scores.  Freshman Alicia Wilbanks (#4) and senior Tina Philippi (#5) were the others.  In doubles action sophomore Katrina Priess teamed with Martinez at #1 doubles to cruise to an 8-3 win.  Junior Stephanie Reed partnered with Wilbanks to win convincingly 8-1 at #2 doubles.  Concordia had to forfeit its matches at #6 singles and #3 doubles because they didn't have enough players.
