Southwestern Beats Schreiner Handily, 8-1

Southwestern University women's tennis won convincingly 8-1 in a non-conference match in Kerrville.  SU freshman Alicia Wilbanks earned the Mountaineers' only point with a 6-2, 6-2 win at #5 singles.

Schreiner's #1 singles player, sophomore Katrina Priess, had one of the more exciting matches.  Priess lost the first set, 6-4, then reversed the score to win the second set, but fell 6-2 in the third and decisive set to Southwestern's Emily Gutmer.  Priess and freshman teammate Michelle Martinez had the closest match in doubles action, but lost 8-6 to the Pirates' #1 team of Laura Evanoff and Gutmer.

Schreiner had to forfeit its matches at #6 singles and #3 doubles because it didn't have enough players.
