Wehmeyer Named ASC West Pitcher of the Week
Freshman pitcher
Eric Wehmeyer
conducted a two game sweep of conference foe
McMurry last week, and was honored as the
Pitcher of the Week for the American Southwest
Conference West Division. In game one of
the series Wehmeyer earned the first save in his
collegiate career, shutting the door on a
McMurry run for an 8-7 Mountaineer victory.
The freshman hurler started the second game as
well, pitching five innings en route to a 4-3
Schreiner win.
Wehmeyer is the
second SU pitcher to be named Pitcher of the
Week this year.
