SU Baseball Mourns Loss of Justin Smith
Justin Smith, a
three-year member of the Schreiner Baseball
team, died unexpectedly Thursday night near his
home in Richmond, TX. He had just
completed his fourth year at Schreiner
University last month and was on pace to
graduate in December with a degree in Math.
Justin, 23, played catcher throughout his three
seasons with SU Baseball. "Justin was a
fun-loving guy and a great friend to his
teammates. He never complained and always
gave his full effort. His loss has deeply
affected every member of our team and he will be
greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers
go out to his family and friends", says SU
Baseball Head Coach Joe Castillo.
Justin earned
recognition on the SU Athletic Department's
Academic Honor Roll in Fall, 2006. He is
survived by parents Eldon and Becky Smith and
brother Joe. |
