Rodney is also a former Schreiner Baseball standout, having played on the same team as Joe in the early 1990's.

After a stellar collegiate career, Rodney was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 36th round of the 1993 MLB draft and played in their farm system for 1-1/2 years before moving to the Chicago Cubs minor league system. He played in the Cubs organization for 2-1/2 years before moving to Allen, TX.  In May, Rodney completed his academic course work and earned his Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Schreiner.

Rodney is a 1989 graduate of New Braunfels High School and was a four-year member of the Schreiner Baseball team. He is married to Shanita Holland, who is an accountant locally. The two have one daughter, Damitra, who is eight years old.
