All the teams doubled in size during her time recruiting. She has experience hosting cross country and track & field meets, having helped organize conference championships in both sports.

Prior to Frostburg State, Luy was a four-year team member for the track & field team at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA. Her primary event was the javelin and she provisionally qualified for the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in that event. She also participated in the sprints, relays, and shot put. She was a four-year Dean’s List Scholarship recipient and a Presidential Fellow. She graduated in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. In 2011, Luy graduated from Frostburg State University with a master’s degree in counseling psychology.
