The homestand for the Schreiner Basketball teams continues tonight and again on Saturday. These are two big games so we hope that you can come out and watch some exciting basketball and hopefully cheer on your Mountaineers to some wins.
The Men's Basketball team is 2-for-2 this week with wins over both UMHB and Texas Lutheran. Junior Ralph Turner's basket with :01 left broke a 72-all tie and gave SU the win over the Crusaders last Saturday. Turner had another big game on Tuesday, along with sophomore Riley Battle and junior Chris Jones-Conyers and the Mountaineers pulled away late in Tuesday's game vs. TLU. Schreiner swept the series with the Bulldogs. SU now is tied for fifth place in the conference and the two teams they are tied with are our two opponents this week. These are big games and your support can make a big difference.
The Women's Basketball team struggled in both games but looks to right the ship tonight and Saturday. Senior Monica Enriquez continues to lead the team with a 16.4 ppg average. Freshman Hannah Burleson is averaging 8.7.
The Baseball team begins is spring season this weekend with its annual Alumni Game Saturday at 1:00 pm.
